Community Helpers Week 1

What a FUN week we have had in Pre-K!  The students created X-rays of their arm and hand.  We did this activity right before the doctor came to visit.

Dr. Johannsen was a so funny!  We learned so much about being a doctor.  He brought his little girl with him to be his assistant.

Nurse Abby told us all about what she does every day in the surgery room at RMC.  We also learned how to not spread germs to our friends.

Harper wants to be a nurse!

Oh my!  We had such a fun time with Police Officer Bishop!  We learned SO much!!   The best part of the day was when Mrs. Weathers went missing in the parking lot and the flying camera found her!

Hope is trying on the bullet proof vest.  It was very heavy!!

Everyone got to see inside the police car and we decided that we would never get in the back of the car again...its only for bad guys!!!!

Officer Bishop explains how he uses the flying camera to search for criminals.

On Thursday, fireman Pritchett came for a visit.  We learned what to do if there is fire in our home.  Did you know that you are supposed to get next to the wall so the fireman can find you?  We learned about staying low on the ground so that the smoke wouldn't harm us.  We also learned how to dial 911.

Jack Henry was thrilled to try on the fireman's hat!   Jack Henry wants to be a fireman when he grows up.

On Thursday, we also had a visit from Dr. Young's office.  We learned all about oral health.   We learned which foods were good for our teeth and which foods were not good for our teeth.

Mr. Tooth also came to visit!!!

In addition to community helpers, Mrs. Jessica did a fun science experiment.  We watched the color mix and we also saw the letters from the M&M's float to the top!!  SO COOL!!!

Do you see the Letter M?
